£1,000 Raised to Help Homeless Charity Shelter

Special Thanks For All The Generous Donations!

The MultiWebMarketing team would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who dug deep over Christmas to support our charity cover of Band Aid. Your kind donations helped us to raise an impressive £454 for our charity of choice Shelter – and we topped up the pot to make it £1,000.

To show their huge appreciation, Shelter’s Regional Community Fundraiser Ellie Tomlin visited our office to be presented with a large cheque and pay her thanks to the team who pulled out all the stops with our comical rendition which gained 66,000 online Facebook hits.

“We absolutely loved the video,” said Ellie. “It was a bit different, it was entertaining and I think at Christmas it really appealed to viewers and helped to drive fundraising.

“We get extremely busy in November and December, so it was fantastic to see the video and enjoy that feelgood factor it created.”

The funds donated will go to a fantastic cause helping people who are homeless across the country and in our very own county of South Yorkshire.

Ellie added: “To put the donation into context, each call to the charity’s helpline costs the charity about £20 so this could pay for 50 more calls to be answered and each call can make a massive difference.

“We are quite often helping people who feel like they have hit rock bottom, often due to relationship breakdowns or eviction from their home which might be due to rent arrears or simply the landlord has decided they don’t want them to live there anymore. It is usually reasons outside of their control so it could genuinely happen to anyone.

“We work hard to ensure people are given the help they are entitled to or need to get back on their feet.”

Content and Social Media Manager Hayley Leeming said: “We are pleased the video was such a success and proved so popular, but the pressure is now on to think of an even better idea next year!”
