Thorndell Engineering, based in Doncaster are a structural engineering company who provide bespoke fabrications to clients and customers across the UK. Thorndell Engineering didn’t have a strong online presence, with only a dated website and limited social media activity. The client wanted a Marketing Agency based in Doncaster to take over their online activity to establish the Thorndell Engineering brand across a range of digital platforms online.

Established in 1978, the company has over 40 years’ experience in the structural engineering industry. Providing work for national companies and government bodies such as Keepmoat Homes, National Grid and the City of York Council, Thorndell Engineering manufacture everything from fencing and gates to portal frame buildings and complete structural engineering solutions.

All these services had to be incorporated into our digital marketing solutions, which started with a new website design for the brand, and has included everything from Search Engine Optimisation to Social Media Marketing and Video Editing.

Social Media Marketing

As part of Thorndell Engineering’s digital marketing strategy, we are providing Social Media Marketing services, including page designs, a bespoke content strategy and regular social media activity over three platforms; Facebook, Twitter, and a LinkedIn Company Page.

The Facebook and Twitter pages were designed from the ground up to reflect Thorndell Engineering’s branding and new website design, and the LinkedIn page was redesigned to incorporate this visual design. We also designed a YouTube page for the client, and edited some of their existing video content to improve the quality and relevance to the brand and their services.

Facebook Advertising services, incorporating professional content and graphic design, have helped create some initial leads and engagement inside social media, driving traffic to the website where users are encouraged to contact and make enquiries with Thorndell Engineering.

Web Design

The new website was designed in line with Thorndell Engineering’s existing branding. The orange, white and black colour scheme is used throughout the website, and promotes a strong sense of brand identity for website visitors. The website is also designed to be easy to navigate for a user, with the range of services and products the company offers clearly categorised with supporting imagery in the navigation menus. Each service and product page also incorporates a bespoke enquiry form, encouraging users to make contact with Thorndell Engineering.

Our Search Engine Optimisation ensures relevant users can find the new website within Google, with targeted pages and content designed to appear favourably in search engines. The blog page also allows regular, relevant content to be incorporated into directly into the website, with a range of SEO benefits.

The company also has over 40 years’ experience and history within the structural engineering industry – it was important to incorporate the company’s history, as well as highlight previous projects directly within the website. We built a gallery page with images of Thorndell Engineering’s previous projects, categorised into the different services they offer. The Case Studies page goes into further detail regarding some of the company’s projects, with a short description of the project and client, testimonials, and supporting imagery.

The “History” page shows a timeline of major events for the company, beginning in 1978 and continuing all the way up to the present, highlighting major events and milestones over their 40-year history.
