Band Aid… with a difference
Cover your ears, but reach for your wallets
Have you heard the rumour that the MultiWebMarketing can’t sing? Nah. It’s can’t be true!
Why don’t you be the judge and listen to our beautiful charity rendition of Band Aid.
Our out-of-tune, out-of-time and out-of-minds team of marketing creatives came together to raise funds for Shelter, the charity which helps millions of people each year who struggle with housing or homelessness.
The festive fun cover has been creating quite a noise with coverage in the Doncaster Free Press, an online share from the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and positive feedback from the charity Shelter itself.
On top of this, the song is well on its way to hitting the £500 fundraising target and we’ve pledged to match that total and take donations up to £1,000. You can help us to make a difference by donating here.
There was no lip syncing – just true voices only – and it’s all in aid for a great cause this Christmas. We had plenty of fun too!
“Personally, it’s been quite embarrassing because I feature quite heavily,” said Content and Social Media Manager Hayley Leeming who came up with the idea. “I’ve had a bit of stick from friends and family – but they all think it’s brilliant.”
Each member of the MultiWebMarketing team was given a part to play in the video featuring a mix of festive and rock n’roll characters and they came together for an afternoon in the office with singing and instruments being played.
The final product was skilfully edited together by our Social Media & Advertising Assistant Manager Lucy Gerrard who laid a backing track over to complete the masterpiece.
“All the team got involved. There are some introverts in the team and even they got stuck in, so it was great,” said Hayley.
“We all had a great laugh and there are some outtakes to come which will come out soon in a blooper video.” said Hayley
But who enjoyed it most? The consensus seems to the Smith duo; Managing Director Paul Smith and Commercial Director Lewis Smith.
“We all knew Paul was going to absolutely lap it up; we all knew he’s like a struggling rockstar,” Hayley said.
Like father, like son, Lewis played a lead role and surprised a few in hitting the high notes.
“He really gave it his all and was hilarious throughout. He stayed in rockstar-diva mode the whole time until he left the building that night.”
