January began with an energising celebration of female leadership and innovation at the Women in Business event organised by Doncaster Chamber on the 22nd, held at the Legacy Centre. Our own Amelia and Kay had the pleasure of attending this dynamic gathering, which brought together a diverse group of professionals eager to connect, learn and support one another.
A Morning of Connection and Inspiration
The day began with a warm welcome, featuring breakfast with fresh pastries and fruit, setting the perfect atmosphere for networking and relaxed conversation. Attendees quickly immersed themselves in engaging discussions and presentations designed to highlight the achievements and challenges faced by women across multiple industries.
Hosted by the talented trio Amelia Banful, Gemma Peebles and Abi Hookway, the event featured four insightful panel sessions, packed with expert knowledge and inspiring stories.
Insightful Panel Discussions
The panels tackled some of the most pressing topics in today’s business landscape:
Building a Thriving Multigenerational Workforce
Panellists Amanda Whitehead Foltyn, Amy Smith, Natalie Smith, Donna Cook and Lavinia Stevenson shared valuable strategies for bridging generational gaps and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.
How to Attract and Retain Talent
Jay Bhayani, Jodi Cooling, Debbie Waddington and Anne Marie O'Hagan discussed innovative approaches to recruitment and maintaining motivated teams.
Impact Beyond the Workplace
Rebecca Ganz, Charlotte Diamond, Akeela Din Mohammed DL and Sarah Burton explored how businesses can create positive social change and support their communities.
Breaking Financial Barriers for Female Led Businesses
Panellists Vicky Mears, Dr Pretty Basra and Toni Thorne offered practical advice on overcoming financial challenges unique to women entrepreneurs.
The event was a fantastic opportunity not only to gain insights but also to build meaningful connections that encourage innovation and growth. Following the panels, we enjoyed a delicious lunch, continuing conversations and networking in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
The Women in Business event truly set a positive tone for the year ahead, celebrating achievements while fostering collaboration and empowerment. We are proud to have been part of such a meaningful gathering and look forward to the continued progress of women in business throughout Doncaster and beyond.
