We are proud to announce that our founder and managing director, Paul Smith, has been appointed as a member of the newly formed Doncaster Mayoral Business Advisory Group, a key initiative established to help shape the city’s economic future.
Helping Shape Doncaster’s Economic Future
The Mayor’s Business Advisory Group has been launched in partnership between Doncaster Chamber and Doncaster Council. It is chaired by Dan Fell MBE, CEO of Doncaster Chamber. The group works to support Mayor Ros Jones, who sets the agenda and key challenges, while members contribute their experience and perspective outside of politics, on behalf of the people of Doncaster, its workforce, and its businesses.
The group brings together 25 influential business leaders from across Doncaster, all committed to providing practical insight, guidance, and challenge on the city’s key economic priorities. The first meeting set the tone for action, with discussions focused on:
- City centre safety and vibrancy
- Skills and workforce development
- Access to business finance
- Attracting private investment
- The future of Doncaster Sheffield Airport
Focused On Action
Chair Dan Fell MBE described the initiative as “a group to do, not just talk”, emphasising the commitment to bring fresh perspectives, networks, and challenge to local decision making. Mayor Ros Jones echoed this, highlighting the group’s crucial role in helping shape local policy and supporting continued economic growth and prosperity.
Representing Doncaster’s Digital and Creative Voice
Paul’s appointment brings representation from Doncaster’s growing digital and creative industries, which play an increasingly important role in driving innovation, employment, and local competitiveness. A former HM Government Adviser for Digital Growth, Paul previously offered strategic advice and direction to SMEs across the UK on how to strengthen their digital landscape and seize new opportunities.
Speaking about his appointment, Paul said:
“No matter your politics, it is a difficult economic environment. But challenges, whether economic or social, can be tackled with new thinking, new ideas, and most importantly, the people of Doncaster behind their city.
My reason for joining the Mayor’s Business Advisory Group is simple: to take ownership, to bring an experienced perspective, and to contribute constructively to the work already being done to move this city forward.
At MultiWebMarketing™, we work with dozens of Doncaster’s most progressive businesses. That puts us at the coalface every day, fighting to grow enquiries, increase market share, and deliver measurable success for each and every client, regardless of sector or shifting economic dynamics.
If any of my experience with FTSE and large organisations can help Doncaster face its challenges, it is offered freely and willingly.”
Looking Ahead
The Mayor’s Business Advisory Group will meet regularly, forming smaller working groups to tackle specific challenges and opportunities. By ensuring that the voice of local business leaders is at the heart of decision making, the group aims to help Doncaster grow, innovate, and compete nationally and internationally.
We are delighted to see Paul representing both MultiWebMarketing™ and the wider Doncaster business community in this important new initiative, and we look forward to sharing updates on the group’s work as it continues to help shape the city’s economic future.
