Releasing our inner boyband

Watch our best impersonition of East17 as we aim to raise vital charity funds this Christmas

The Christmas tree is up and the wreath is hung on the front door which means one thing at MultiWebMarketing – it’s time for another charity music challenge.

After our hilarious – and mildly embarrassing rendition of Band Aid a year ago – the company directors have taken the lead role this time round with a uniquely curated music video to accompany the popular East 17 boyband hit Stay Another Day.

Why, oh why I hear you ask would we volunteer to put our pride on the line to be mocked by the world? Well, this year the team has done it all in aid of the tremendous charity Bluewood Children’s Hospice.

Managing Director Paul Smith along with son and Deputy Managing Director Lewis Smith were joined by Operations Director Adrian Blatherwick and Associate Company Secretary Emma Hill to recreate the cheesy music video and together they certainly raised a few laughs, but it was of course for a very serious cause.

Lewis, who more than played his part in the blockbuster video, said: “As a team, we were inspired by the work of Bluebell Wood; the work the charity does is excellent and so this is our little way of helping to raise awareness.”

The hospice provides children and young adults with alternative care to hospital in the final moments of their lives, as well as offering close support to their families.

“We know it’s hard in December with Christmas coming up and the cost-of-living crisis going on around us – but we appreciate every penny that people put forwards,” added Lewis.

An initial fundraising target of £1,000 has been set and all donations really do go a long way. Every £15 raised could pay for a play session, an amount of £48 covers an hour of care at just the right time and £115 affords families a session of bereavement counselling during the toughest of times.

One of the charity’s regional fundraisers, Eleanor Hughes, said: “We absolutely love the video – we watched it together as a team in one of our meetings and there was a lot of laughter; we think they’ve done a great job.

“We'd like to send our heartfelt thanks to MultiWebMarketing for its brilliant efforts. The single is fantastic and has created valued awareness for us of the vital work the hospice does.”

Now you can ensure this brave lyrical performance doesn’t happen for nothing – with donations welcomed to support those whose lives are sadly too short. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/multi-web-marketing5
